New School Year...

This will be the start of my 3rd full year of teaching. I student taught at Maumelle Middle School in the fall of 2005, and once I graduated in December I got a job that came open. I have loved teaching there. This year there are going to be some new changes. We got a new principle this year and I heard that we are getting a new assistant principle too. I know of several teachers who are going to different schools as well. I am excited to say that my team is staying the same. I love the teachers I teach with, and I hope this is one of the best years so far. I have never had an administration change. I hope everything goes great.

Back from TX...

I told my friend that I must really love him to go and help him. We got there late Wednesday night, after a 10 hour trip, and we went straight to bed on our air matrices. The next morning we get up and start taking out all the stuff that was in the house. There were so many nick knacks in the house. The kids had already spent a week prior to the sale cleaning out all the junk. They filled up three 22ftX8ftx8ft dumpsters full of trash. I could not believe that a person could have this much stuff.

Even though the sale was advertised to start on Friday, people started coming on Thursday. It was our biggest sales day. That night we went to bed and we were all exhausted. My husband wakes me up about 12:30 saying that a scorpion had bitten him. He had it caught in the sheets and he made me go and get something to put it in. I guess moving all the stuff out must have steered them up. Needless to say, we got a bug bomb and set it up the next day.

Going to TX...

I leaving to go to Texas in about 30min. I have a family friend whose father and stepmother has both passed away (father several years ago, stepmother just about a month ago). I am going to Lubbock, TX to help them with the Estate sale. I had told them I would help them back in June, when his stepmother passed away not knowing how busy I would be at this time. I tried to get ahead, but by the time I get back into town I will be playing catch up. Please keep us in your prayer on our trip. We will be back in AR late Saturday night.

It has been awhile...

It has been awhile since my last blog, but don't worry, I have not stopped working. I am taking curriculum development and I have been doing at least two assignments everyday so I can stay caught up. I am so glad theses classes only last three weeks. I am going to go to wild river country and veg out once this is all over. Anyone what to join me?

Bulletin Board

Anna and I worked on our bulletin board today. Our board is the KDP, Kappa Delta Pi, society. I never knew there was a honor society for education. The society offers scholarships and it even recognizes a Student Teacher of the Year. Go by our bulletin board (at the entrance of the Education Department) and see what we did!

Technology

I can not stop playing with all the new technology I learned yesterday. Teacher Web, face book, blog, etc. I hope that I continue to learn more and more.

Summer Classes

Wow! This semester is going to be a lot of work. I hope that I can stay on top of it all!
